Left side of picture shows the City would actually gain waterfront property. Picture also shows no slips beyond the already open waters of the "celery pond". The boardwalk would connect the Kal-Haven trail head to the downtown business district.

UPDATE: The United States Army Corps. have issued the permit to move forward. The Michigan Department of Environmen tal Quality have issued a permit to move forward. The Fish and Wildlife Division and the Van Buren County Drain Commissioner have approved of the plans. The mitigation plan has been engineered and approved.

This is a shovel ready project that is good for the environment, good for the City of South Haven, good for the eco balance of the remaining Celery Pond, good for economic growth and JOBS. We all need to contact the Mayor and City Council and let them know it's time to clean up the Celery Pond and promote growth and Jobs.
